As a non-profit, Presbyterian-affiliated organization, Glenaire has never asked a resident to leave our community simply because they have outlived their resources. In its 30 years, Glenaire has provided over $5 million in financial assistance. In, 2024, we expect to provide over $600,000.00 in scholarship funds. 100% of race proceeds will support this cause.

Scotia Village has been a part of the Laurinburg community for 35 years, opening in 1988 on a 66-acre campus. The community was ready to accommodate residents for independent, assisted, or skilled nursing needs. Within the first three years, Scotia Village added single-family homes, and more accommodations were made for the health care center.

River Landing at Sandy Ridge has been a part of the Triad for 20 years, opening in 2003 ready to serve as a state-of-the-art retirement community. Spanning over its 154-acre campus, options for independent and assisted living were ready to welcome residents. Looking back over the last 20 years, River Landing has set a precedent for life in retirement.

During the winter months, we all seem to long for those first few days of spring when the greenery comes back, the sun stays in the sky longer, and nature invites us to come outside and play. While we have a stretch of winter ahead of us, there is an event we can all look forward to as we turn the corner into spring. On Saturday, April 1st, Glenaire will host its 7th Annual 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run starting at 9am.

During the week of October 3, 2002, the residents of Glenaire participated in the Brightspire Olympics. Over the course of the week, participants were able to travel to other Brightspire communities, River Landing at Sandy Ridge, and Scotia Village. On Friday October 7th, Glenaire was host to the closing games and ceremony.

Kayla McBane, Wellness Coordinator at Friends Homes, joined the Friends family in May 2022, a few months before the new Wellness Center opened the doors to residents. With six years of wellness experience, she has brought knowledge of wellbeing to our residents and staff.

Carolyn Rice, Wellness Director at Glenaire has been a part of the wellness team since 2019. This position is her second role, as she was hired in 2005 as a billing specialist before joining the wellness team. Throughout her time at Glenaire, she has always had a passion for wellness.
