Meet Glenaire’s New Sales Counselor

Published: May 30, 2026

Glenaire is excited to welcome Ibby Wooten as the community’s newest Sales Counselor. With more than 20 years of experience in senior living, Ibby brings a wealth of industry knowledge along with a compassionate, people-focused approach to helping prospective residents navigate one of life’s biggest transitions.

For many Residents of the Future, a sales counselor is one of the very first connections they make at Glenaire. Ibby understands the importance of that role and hopes to provide guidance, reassurance and support from the very beginning.

“I want people to feel like they have a partner and an ally in the process,” Ibby says. “Someone they can trust to help guide them, answer questions and provide support every step of the way.”

Before joining Glenaire, Ibby spent 11 years on the leadership team at The Forest at Duke, a life plan community in Durham, where she served as Director of Programming. She later became part of the original team that launched The Downsizers, a Chapel Hill-based senior move management company, where she worked as a project manager for seven years helping older adults navigate the moving process.

Through those experiences, Ibby gained firsthand insight into both the emotional and logistical sides of transitioning into a senior living community.

“I’ve seen both sides of the journey,” Ibby says. “I understand what it takes to make a move and how important it is to have support throughout the process.”

Ibby says her passion for senior living comes from her love of helping people confidently step into a new chapter of life while educating them about the opportunities, amenities and peace of mind that come with planning for the future.

After just one month at Glenaire, Ibby says the welcoming culture and engaged residents have already made a strong impression.

“The people here are incredibly friendly and supportive,” she says. “Residents are open to new experiences and truly invested in helping welcome new people into the community.”

Outside of work, Ibby is a proud University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill graduate and devoted Tar Heels fan who enjoys following football, basketball, baseball and soccer.

For those who may feel nervous about considering a move, Ibby wants them to know those feelings are completely normal.

“It’s okay to feel nervous,” she says. “The key is surrounding yourself with people who can provide comfort, guidance and support — and trying to channel that nervousness into excitement for what’s ahead.”
