Often known as “housekeeping,” EVS teams across Kintura communities go far beyond cleaning. “We’re the ‘yes’ department,” says Angel Hardeman, Associate Director of EVS at the Glenaire community in Cary. “We do everything we can to accommodate residents and fulfill their needs.”
At the heart of EVS is true maintenance-free living. Residents can look forward to weekly, top-to-bottom cleanings included as part of community life.
“We do top to bottom cleaning,” says Spencer Harris, Director of EVS at Glenaire. “That means everything from dusting high surfaces to cleaning floors down low.”
Kitchens, bathrooms, floors and more are all carefully maintained, creating a consistently clean and comfortable home.
Even more meaningful is the consistency of care. As much as possible, the same EVS team member services each residence, allowing genuine relationships to form. Residents know who to expect each week, and over time, those familiar faces become trusted parts of daily life.
That personal connection begins from day one. New residents are welcomed with a meet-and-greet, giving them the opportunity to connect with their housekeeper and share preferences. Whether it’s focusing on certain areas, using specific products or being mindful of a beloved pet, EVS tailors each experience to the individual.
But the support doesn’t stop at weekly cleanings. From stepping in to assist residents during moments of need – such as helping bring in groceries when extra support is needed – to responding quickly to a spill, the team is always ready to help. For example, at Glenaire, EVS team members also assist with cleaning larger household items like comforters and rugs upon request, carefully returning them once complete. They even help with tasks such as delivering packages to residents’ doors when needed, offering an added layer of convenience and care.
“We are typically some of the first people residents see, and we spend a lot of time in their homes,” Angel shares. “It’s so important to us that we treat them with the utmost respect and serve them to the best of our ability.”
In addition to caring for individual residences, EVS teams maintain shared common spaces throughout each community, ensuring everything is clean, welcoming and ready to be enjoyed. Their attention to detail helps create the polished, comfortable environment residents experience every day.
