The Village at Brookwood Hosts First Annual Resident Showcase

The Village at Brookwood recently hosted its first-ever Resident Showcase, and it was an evening to remember.

More than 20 residents filled The Gathering Place with tables and displays of their talents. The room came alive with paintings, woodworking, jewelry, photography, pottery and more. Some residents offered their crafts for sale while others simply enjoyed showing off their creations.

The showcase drew a crowd of over 80 people – including current residents and many “Oak Circle” members, or residents of the future. It gave prospective neighbors a special opportunity to get a sneak peek into life at The Village at Brookwood and to meet the people they may one day call friends.

The range and quality of the displays impressed everyone in attendance.

“There are so many talented residents here, and this event is a great way to celebrate them,” says Betsy Huneycutt, Director of Sales and Marketing. “Some of these talents were hidden until now, and it’s wonderful to see them come to light.”

The evening was filled with joy, laughter and community spirit. Hors d’oeuvres and wine were served, creating the perfect setting for residents and guests to mingle, admire the artistry and connect with one another. For many, it was a reminder that retirement at The Village at Brookwood doesn’t slow life down – it sparks new passions and celebrates lifelong ones.

Behind the scenes, the event was truly a group effort. Team members from the Environmental Services, Life Enrichment, Dining and leadership areas all came together to ensure every detail was covered, allowing residents to simply show up and shine.

The Resident Showcase is more than an art showcase – it’s an example of the vibrant community spirit that makes The Village at Brookwood such a special place to live and work. Here, residents are supported, cherished and encouraged to share their talents. Events like this prove that retirement can be creative, social and full of meaning.
