Glenaire Welcomes Emily Smith as Associate Executive Director

Exciting leadership news is unfolding at Glenaire as longtime team member Emily Smith steps into her new role as Associate Executive Director.

After 19 years of serving the community in a variety of positions – most recently as Sales Director – Emily is taking on this next chapter with the same resident-first mindset and heart for service that have shaped her career. Her promotion is an exciting milestone for Glenaire and a strong example of what professional growth can look like within the organization.

Emily’s journey at Glenaire reflects steady dedication and deep community connection. Over the years, she served in several earlier roles including Healthcare Activities Assistant; Director of The Glade, Glenaire’s adult day center; and Wellness Director. Each position allowed her to build relationships, strengthen her understanding of resident needs and contribute to Glenaire in meaningful ways.

In her role as Sales Director, Emily played an important part in a major season of growth for the community, supporting the expansion of Glenaire’s new 6000 building. She guided future residents through the decision-making process and helped welcome new residents as they moved in. Many of those relationships remain strong today, built on trust and genuine connection.

“The thing that has kept me here at Glenaire for so long is the mission-driven work and the connection I’ve built with the residents,” Emily pointed out. “It’s more than just a job to me. I’m invested in the residents’ overall experience, and I want to continue playing a part in helping them thrive.”

Emily will serve as one of two Associate Executive Directors, a leadership structure designed to support Glenaire’s continued growth and ensure strong leadership presence across more areas of the community.

In her new role, Emily will help oversee key departments including communications, health and wellness, environmental services, and events and catering, along with additional responsibilities that support the overall success of the community. This expanded leadership presence helps strengthen communication, support team members and ensure residents feel seen and heard.

“Emily is a great culture fit,” said Ben Stevens, Executive Director. “She takes her role very seriously and personally, and she holds a high standard of care for the residents. In return, they have a strong trusting relationship with her.”

Emily’s promotion also reflects Glenaire’s commitment to developing leaders from within. The community values team members who are dedicated to the mission and ready to grow into new opportunities.

“When the heart of the team member is right, they can be trained in almost any role,” Ben shared. “We value team members who are dedicated to our mission and that’s why we are proud to be an organization that gives our team members the opportunity to grow within the organization.”

Emily describes her leadership style as servant leadership, rooted in teamwork, support and being present with her team. As she steps into this new chapter, her focus remains clear: to strengthen teams, support residents and help Glenaire continue to thrive.

With deep experience, trusted relationships and a passion for the mission, Emily Smith is stepping into her new role ready to serve Glenaire with confidence, compassion and purpose.
