A Fresh New Chapter Takes Shape at Scotia Village

Renovation work at Scotia Village is entering the final stretch of phase one, with spaces expected to open to residents by the end of February or early March. As this phase nears completion, residents and Residents of the Future are beginning to see a clearer picture of the refreshed dining and social spaces that will soon serve as central gathering places within the community.

Phase one focuses on reimagining how residents dine, connect, and spend time together. The existing dining room is being fully renovated into a new bistro, creating a welcoming and flexible dining destination designed for everyday enjoyment. The bistro will offer a fresh approach to dining while serving as a lively hub for conversation and connection.

Just outside the bistro, a covered back patio is also nearing completion. This new outdoor space features an updated outdoor kitchen and fire pit, extending dining and social opportunities beyond the walls of the building. Designed for comfort and year-round use, the patio will provide another inviting setting for residents to gather with friends, neighbors, and guests.

Another key element of phase one is the transformation of the former game room into a Scottish-inspired pub. Thoughtfully designed to feel relaxed and social, the pub will offer a cozy atmosphere for casual gatherings, conversation, and shared experiences. Together, the bistro, pub, and patio introduce a variety of spaces that encourage residents to linger, socialize, and enjoy community life.

Phase one also includes the beginning stages of expansion and renovation for the administrative and marketing offices located at the front of the community. These updates will create more functional and modern workspaces for team members while contributing to a refreshed and welcoming first impression for visitors and prospective residents.

Executive Director Allen Johnson shared that excitement continues to build as progress becomes more visible. “Residents have already expressed excitement as they see these spaces coming together,” he said.

Once phase one opens, renovation efforts will move directly into phase two. This next phase will focus on renovating the existing café into a new cook-to-order restaurant, further expanding dining options within the community. Phase two will also complete the expansion and renovation of the administrative and marketing offices, remodel the lobby area, and refresh the downstairs living room to create additional comfortable and inviting shared spaces.

Together, phases one and two represent a thoughtful investment in the future of Scotia Village. These updates ensure the community remains current, welcoming, and socially engaging while offering both current residents and Residents of the Future an exciting glimpse into the vibrant lifestyle that awaits.
