One of the most beloved amenities at River Landing at Sandy Ridge is getting an important refresh this summer, ensuring residents there can continue enjoying a high-quality golfing experience for years to come.
In July, River Landing launched renovations of its golf course greens as part of an investment in maintaining industry standards established by the United States Golf Association (USGA). The project is expected to continue through mid-fall, during which time the golf course will be temporarily closed. The clubhouse will remain open throughout the renovation.
The primary focus of the project is rebuilding the greens. Existing soil will be removed and replaced with new USGA-specification materials before new turf is installed. The updated greens will improve air and water movement through the soil, creating healthier growing conditions that will provide consistent, true putting surfaces.
River Landing has partnered with Signet Golf Co., a firm specializing in golf course construction and renovation, to complete the project.
While the greens are being renovated, additional improvements will also take place throughout the course, including drainage enhancements, fairway repairs and other general maintenance designed to improve overall course conditions.
For Scooter Nance, the longtime Director of Golf and Grounds, the project reflects River Landing's ongoing commitment to providing an exceptional golf experience.
