Future Neighbors Become Friends at River Landing Happy Hour

Published: October 23, 2026

Residents of the Future gathered at River Landing at Sandy Ridge for an evening centered on connection, conversation and a glimpse of the community they will one day call home.

The annual Resident of the Future Happy Hour has become a favorite tradition at River Landing, bringing prospective residents together to meet their future neighbors in a relaxed, welcoming setting. More than 100 guests attended this year’s event, which took place in the Golf Clubhouse.

Throughout the evening, guests had the opportunity to mix and mingle while enjoying appetizers and a signature cocktail and beer and wine prepared by River Landing’s dining team. A couple of current River Landing residents joined the gathering as well, giving future residents the chance to ask questions and hear firsthand what life in the community is like.

While the happy hour offered plenty of fun, its larger purpose was to encourage fellowship among Residents of the Future and help them begin forming meaningful connections long before moving to River Landing.

Those connections have already grown beyond the annual event.

“Because this has become an event our Residents of the Future look forward to each year, we’ve had the opportunity to watch genuine friendships form,” said Betsy Seaton, Director of Sales and Marketing. “Two couples who met through our Resident of the Future gatherings have become friends and now spend time together playing pickleball. That is exactly the kind of connection we hope to foster.”

For River Landing, creating that sense of belonging before moving in is an important part of welcoming future residents into the community.

“Events like this help build camaraderie and friendship among our Residents of the Future,” Seaton said. “We are honored they have chosen River Landing, and we want them to feel welcomed and connected from the very beginning.”
