Piece by Piece – Wellness Week Brings Energy, Connection and Creativity to Kintura Communities

Published: February 24, 2026

Kintura’s encouragement to be “Living. Life. Well” is illustrated in a big way each spring, and this year is no exception. From May 4–8, communities across Kintura will celebrate the annual Wellness Week,a highly anticipated tradition designed to inspire residents to stay active, engaged and open to new experiences.

Wellness Week is all about exploring the many dimensions of well-being, including physical, spiritual, intellectual, nutritional, social and community connection. Throughout the week, residents can enjoy a variety of thoughtfully planned experiences that go beyond the everyday, encouraging them to try something new and connect with others in meaningful ways.

“Our communities always look forward to Wellness Week,” says Sarah Laviner, Wellness Director at Scotia Village. “I love finding fun, creative ways for residents to step outside their comfort zones and experience something new. It’s all about helping them stay engaged and excited.”

Each year brings a new theme, and this year’s – The Wellness Puzzle, Piece by Piece – reflects how every activity contributes to a well-rounded, fulfilling lifestyle. Teams across departments work together to bring the theme to life, creating a dynamic and engaging experience for residents.

At Scotia Village, the week will be filled with a wide range of activities designed to appeal to every interest. Residents can participate in seated and standing yoga, attend presentations hosted by the Spiritual Life Committee and hear from a guest nutritionist on healthy eating. Festive events such as a Cinco de Mayo–inspired nacho bar and beer tasting add a social and celebratory element.

In keeping with the theme, interactive puzzles and brain-stimulating activities will be incorporated throughout the week, offering fun and engaging ways for residents to challenge their minds. Residents will also have opportunities to enjoy events within the broader Laurinburg community, further strengthening connections beyond Scotia Village.

Scotia Village is known for going above and beyond to make Wellness Week memorable. In past years, residents have enjoyed immersive experiences like escape rooms and high-energy drum fit classes – both of which were crowd favorites.

“My favorite part is seeing residents try something new and really enjoy it,” Sarah shares. “It’s so rewarding to watch people connect with each other in new ways and get excited about being involved.”

At the end of Wellness Week each year, the Scotia Village community gathers for a potluck, where residents bring their favorite dishes to share and enjoy each other’s company.

Behind the scenes, Wellness Week is a true team effort. From maintenance setting up event spaces to dining creating fun and creative menus, team members across the community play an essential role in bringing each experience to life.

Wellness Week is just one example of how Kintura puts its mission into action every day. By creating opportunities for connection, growth and joy, Kintura communities offer a lifestyle where engagement and well-being are built in – and where residents of the future have so much to look forward to.
